When purchased this flat has been let out for a number of years by its previous owner and had been carved up accordingly.

Occupying the original double drawing room and boudoir of a large South Kensington townhouse, the flat offered incredible volume and was full of period features.

We set about recreating the original front drawing room, restoring all the period features and raising the ceiling heights to 4.2m. To avoid damaging the cornicing in the rear drawing room, we created a 'pod' containing the family bathroom and the second bedroom.

We then turned the old boudoir into a master suite, again adding another pod to protect the anaglypta wallpaper and Victorian features. To allow light into the ensuite, we added two full height glass windows, with electric blinds to preserve the occupants modesty.

To the front of the flat we added a contemporary handless kitchen, a dark oak parquet floor and restored the three sets of French doors leading out to the south facing balcony.

The property sold for approaching £2200/sq ft within weeks of going onto the market.
